About the studio

Sixteen years ago I decided to make my life long pottery hobby become a reality. With a degree in health care, a passion for the arts, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the desire to expose people of all ages to what I love, I came up with the perfect name for my Contemporary Pottery Studio, but it took four years to find the right location.  In the Spring of 2006 Peace of Pottery opened its doors in my hometown of New Hartford, NY.  After 5 years at that tiny location, I expanded to include "Peace Cafe", serving homemade wraps and soups to the New Hartford High School students at lunch.  After 3 years at that location, I decided to move to my current spot in Clinton, NY.  This is where I originally wanted to be and with my fourth child turning 3, it was time to move on.  The village community here is booming with the arts and I am loving my new home.

To create a piece of pottery in my studio, you don't have to be an artist, you just need a desire to be one for an hour or so and free yourself of any inhibitions once you're here.  You may walk in or make an appointment, which is always best with a group.  Select a piece of bisque, choose from a variety of paint colors and then create your masterpiece.  You leave your piece for me to top glaze and fire a second time and after about a week, you return to pick it up.  If you are feeling very creative, you may choose to hand sculpt from clay, leave with me to dry and after the first firing, return to paint your piece as above.
